Take Surveys for Extra Spending Money

There are lots of ways to earn some extra spending money. From mowing lawns like you did as a kid to driving for Uber in your spare time, you can find ways to put a little more cash in your pocket. Almost half of all Americans have some sort of side gig to earn extra money. Many people have learned to turn to the internet, or to apps specifically for new and expanding earning opportunities. And there are a lot of different money-making options out there, from driving rideshare to delivery, to dog walking, to specific task apps like TaskRabbit. Few means of earning extra money are as convenient as taking paid surveys, however.

You can take paid surveys from the convenience of your own home, or wherever you are. Usually, all you need is a smartphone or tablet, although you can take them from a laptop or desktop as well. The best part is, you can take them on any schedule that works for you — even if that schedule only gives you free time at one o’clock in the morning after you get a screaming baby back to bed.

Most surveys and survey taking websites will vet you upfront to see if you’re a good candidate for whatever survey they’re offering. If you’re not in the correct demographic, you may not be eligible to take the survey. Some surveys have no specific demographics, however, or have very broad and open demographic requirements. If you’re a breathing adult U.S. resident, there’s probably a paid survey out there waiting for you right this minute.

Another thing surveys often do is give you an idea of how much time you’ll need to complete them. Generally speaking, the longer the survey, the greater the reward you’ll receive for completing it. Be sure to read the fine print and any accompanying terms of service before you begin a survey. Sometimes you’ll find important information about the survey itself and about the rewards you’ll receive and how to claim them.

If you’re still on the fence about taking surveys, it’s probably time to talk about the rewards you can receive. Rewards certainly vary from survey to survey, and some are absolutely better than others! One classic kind of survey reward is a discount. Understandably, these are often the least popular surveys. However if there’s a particular store or website you plan to purchase from soon, it doesn’t hurt to do a quick search and look for any surveys the company may have available.

The next most common reward you’ll find in the paid survey system is gift cards. Gift cards for Amazon and other big retailers are not uncommon. Part of the reason for this is that it doesn’t require the person taking the survey to have a bank account or PayPal account to collect their reward. If you find gift card reward surveys, be sure to read the fine print carefully about what you will have to do to collect your gift card.

The final award you’ll find is simply money. You’ll find offers of cash that can come in everything from auto-deposits on PayPal to paper checks in the mail. Again, we recommend reading the fine print before you begin the survey, but surveys that pay cash are certainly out there and some of them pay big!
